Week 16: December 9-13, 2013
This week we chased down the Gingerbread Man, Boy, Girl, and Cowboy in story, and in Star Academy! Focus of the week was identifying the setting in support of what the characters and events that take place in the story(ies) we are reading. We culminated our discussions and discoveries with chasing down the man himself! The Gingerbread Man came to Star Academy, left us notes, and treats at the very end! We had such a great time!

Every day we have a signal word. This chart is referred to as a CCD (Cognitive Dictionary). Every day we introduce a new word, predict it's meaning and then formally learn the definition. We follow up with the formal definition the next day and compose oral sentences to demonstrate levels of mastery regarding our new vocabulary! |
Here are the children's personally designed and described Gingerbread boys and girls! They were so creative and dedicated! I am so proud!
